America's 10 Most Dangerous Hikes

When you go into the backcountry, danger is always a possibility. Some spots are just deadlier than others. If you're looking for a stunning destination for a once in a lifetime hike, or maybe just a beautiful backdrop for a serious injury, we suggest you check out Backpack's list of America's 10 Most Dangerous Hikes.
These are the hikes that you'll love that may not love you back:
- The Maze, UT
- Bright Angel Trail, Grand Canyon, AZ
- Barr Trail, Pikes Peak, CO
- Mt. Washington, NH
- Muir Snowfield, Mt. Rainier, WA
- Huckleberry Mtn., Apgar Range, MT
- Kalalau Trail, Kauai, HI
- Buckskin Gulch, UT
- Abrams Falls, Great Smoky Mtns., TN
- Mist Trail, Half Dome, CA
Between high temperatures, low temperatures, floods, wind, falls, ravines, rock slides, drowning, lightening, and in one spot, a bear density so high you can "spit and hit a grizzly," you can choose the exact way you'd like to snuff it.
Luckily, Backpacker explains the dangers and includes intel on how to make it out in one piece. Or maybe with just a really cool new scar.

And the #1 Threat: BEARS!!!
Backpacker answers your Bear-related questions.

Hmmm. Perhaps attracted to used tampons, but not so much your farts. So multi-layered, these bears.
Summary: brave the sun and mosquitos, skip the Downey, and well, just put your stank-ass in a tank to be sure. Happy Camping!
The Bi-Pedal Bear
This black bear has lost it's front left paw and forearm and walks around like people! She even has a cub. Adaptable!
Via Backpacker which mentions, "We don't know where this video was shot, but the way she looks marching around upright, I think I might have an idea for where the myth of Sasquatch comes from."
